Beyond Business: How You're Part of Our Environmental Mission

Ida Gorecka • February 3, 2025

Remember that office furniture project you completed with us? While you were creating your perfect workspace, something bigger was happening. Every desk, chair, and cabinet you chose was saving you money, but most importantly, it was helping protect our planet's future. And now, we want to share exactly what your support has achieved.

What Your Office Furniture Choice Achieved

Thanks to clients and partners like you, we've reached some remarkable milestones:

  • Over 36,000 trees planted worldwide through our Ecologi partnership
  • 18,000 rainforest trees protected through OneTribe, preserving vital forest areas where they're needed most
  • Nearly 400 tonnes of carbon emissions avoided - equivalent to taking 87 cars off the road for a year

These are not just our achievements - they're yours. Every time you chose refurbished office furniture over new, you automatically became part of these environmental projects.

This data is independently verified and continuously updated through our partnerships with Ecologi (

Making Every Action Count: Our Environmental Partnerships

When we partnered with Ecologi in 2021, we knew we wanted to do more than just save office furniture from landfill. We started by taking a hard look at our entire operation - measuring the carbon we produce from our vans, warehouse, and complete supply chain (what environmental experts call Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions). This gave us a clear picture of our environmental footprint and showed us exactly where we needed to focus our efforts.

This understanding led us to develop two key initiatives. First, through Ecologi, we began funding
global tree planting and carbon reduction projects to address our measured emissions. Second, we partnered with OneTribe to protect existing rainforest trees - the vital carbon-capturing engines our planet already has.

These complementary partnerships create both immediate and lasting environmental benefits - from capturing new carbon through freshly planted trees to preserving the biodiversity in existing rainforests. It's a comprehensive approach that matches the scale of our ambition: to make every aspect of our business work harder for the planet.

How Your Office Furniture Refurbishing Projects Make This Happen

Here's the beautiful simplicity of it: you don't need to do anything extra. When you work with us, your regular projects automatically contribute to these environmental initiatives. That means while you're saving money and getting quality refurbished office furniture, you're also:

  • Supporting global reforestation projects
  • Protecting existing rainforest
  • Reducing carbon emissions through smarter furniture choices

Looking Forward: Growing Our Environmental Impact Together

We're proud of what we've achieved together, but this is just the start. As more businesses like yours choose sustainable office furniture options, we're finding smart new ways to make your choices count even more for the environment. Every project teaches us something valuable - from finding promising new conservation projects to making our refurbishment process even better.

Those environmental numbers we shared earlier - the trees planted, the carbon saved - they're not just numbers on a page. They're the direct result of choices you made while setting up your office. Every piece of refurbished office furniture you chose has helped create positive change, from keeping items out of landfills to supporting forest protection around the world. Your choices create a domino effect: less waste in landfills and a clear signal to other businesses that sustainable choices make sense.

Doing business differently starts with small choices that add up. If that matters to you, please
get in touch. Your next office project could do more than you know for less than you think.

Our approach to furnishing workspaces is changing as part of a collective effort to reverse the projected 70% increase in global waste by 2050 . Design trends are constantly changing, and as companies race to keep up it can be challenging to keep up with the newest trends in office furniture. However, this constant cycle results in millions of office furniture pieces getting unnecessarily discarded every year when, with the right expertise, they could be repurposed, reused, or recycled. What can we do to reverse this trend? Facility Managers must help to embed circular economy thought processes into procurement and disposal strategies, across the entire supply chain. While recycling paper and reducing energy consumption are common strategies, one area that is often overlooked as a source of sustainable credentials is office furniture. By embracing furniture recycling and refurbishment , facility managers can make smarter , more sustainable choices that help reduce waste, cut costs, and ensure premium-quality office designs, often without the lengthy lead times that accompany new furniture purchases. If you haven’t considered refurbished furniture before, you are in the right place to discover why they should be your obvious choice for your next project. But even if you have considered it, keep reading for valuable insights into how refurbished furniture can improve sustainability initiatives, maximise cost savings, and support long-term business goals.
